Wildflowers App for iPhone

Here’s a really fab piece of technology that has changed the way that nature spotters are doing their stuff… The Wildflowers App for the iPhone puts a complete field guide of British flowers on an iPhone.

“Ok”, I hear you say! It’s an electronic version of a pocket field guide — “so what”?

But this is the clever bit. Let’s say you’re wandering along a footpath and you see a flower that you don’t recognise… Open your Wildflower App and use the ‘Wizard’ to specify flower type, colour, arrangement of flowers, shape of leaf and arrangement of leaves… and hey presto — the App will identify your mystery flower!

Now how cool is that…?
