Ambersham Polo Ground
On Sunday we wandered over to watch a Polo match at Ambersham Polo Ground at Selham, near Midhurst. At our end of the ground there was a group of ‘reserve’ horses – waiting to take to the field like substitutes in a football match.
The sense of anticipation and excitement amongst the horses was palpable – they just couldn’t wait to get onto the field and get involved with the game. You can sense from the ears, eyes and nostrils that this horse was wired and ready to play!
We paid £5 per adult to get in to watch the game (kids went free). It was my first time watching Polo and I have to say it was pretty exciting stuff! The final score was Piaget 10, Thai Polo 6.
