South Downs Badger

South Downs Badger in the Dark Blog

An evening with the Badgers on the South Downs

There’s a huge badger set on the side of the South Downs at Bepton Down.

It’s easy to find; the badgers have thrown up huge spoil heaps of white chalk around the woods. There’s no disguising where they’ve been digging, and this set is enormous and very active!

Over the years I’ve discovered that badgers are very camera shy – turn up at the set without a camera and the badgers will be doing a dance in broad daylight. Turn up with a camera and they wait until it’s too dark to get a decent picture!
