Teach a child to fish…

Chiddingfold Cubs Fishing Whithorn Farm 3

…and they’ll eat for the rest f their life

Today I went out into the Surrey countryside to go lake fishing with twenty Cub Scouts from Chiddingfold.

Now I’m not 100% certain that going fishing really qualifies as an ‘approved’ 30 Days Wild event! But it was an act of wildness and we did what comes naturally to boys aged 8–10. Oh and all of the fish were returned safely into the water…

Between us we caught about 35 Roach, but most importantly we had a great evening getting up close to nature.

30 Days Wild is an opportunity to make room for nature this June – no matter where you are or how busy your life is! Make this the month when you do something wild every day. When you sign up to the challenge, The Wildlife Trusts will even send you a pack full of encouragement, ideas and ‘Random Acts of Wildness’!
