Petworth Park Boathouse

Boathouse Petworth Park Lake

Petworth Park on a misty Autumn Morning

I was up at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning, eager to be the first person into Petworth Park as they opened the gates at 8 o’clock. Here’s a photo of the boathouse on the Upper Pond.

Petworth House Upper Pond was designed by Capability Brown in 1752. The boathouse – featuring a carved head of Neptune – was added in the late 18th Century alongside the nearby statue of The Dog of Alcibiades.

A perfect start to a perfect Autumn day! View this photo and others on Flickr website.
