Will 2018 be as good as 2017 for Hummingbird Hawkmoths?
It’s only the 21st June and look at this – a Hummingbird Hawkmoth scooting around the garden!
These wonderful, day flying moths arrive in the UK in varying numbers every year – with 2017 being a bumper year when the weather and the wind brought them to the UK in their millions. They fly up from the Med, breeding in the UK in July/August with numbers boosted by UK offspring from September onwards.
